Mr. Gangliang Qiao joined Danaher in 2013 and is now Vice President, General Counsel for Danaher Asia Pacific.  Between 2009 and 2013, he was Executive Vice President for Siemens (China) Ltd., and General Counsel Siemens North East Asia, with full responsibility for all legal and compliance affairs of Siemens in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Mongolia.

Prior to joining Siemens, Mr. Qiao worked with General Electric (“GE”) as Vice President and General Counsel for GE Healthcare Greater China and GE Capital Greater China, respectively, from 2000 to 2009.

Mr. Qiao joined GE in 2000 from the New York-based law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP (“Paul Weiss”), where he was an associate in its New York office and Beijing Office.  Prior to Paul Weiss, Mr. Qiao practiced law as a partner of a leading law firm in China.

Mr. Qiao is a foreign arbitrator for China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and Beijing Arbitration Commission respectively.  Upon graduation from Georgetown, Mr. Qiao clerked for Honorable Douglas W. Hillman, a federal judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Mr. Qiao is the author of “The Court Is Now In Session!”, a personal recount of his experience as the first Chinese national of clerking for a U.S. federal judge.  The best-seller book was written in Chinese and published by San Lian Publishing House in Beijing.

Mr. Qiao holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University, an M.A. in American Studies/Political Science from Purdue University in the State of Indiana, and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C.  He is admitted to practice law in China and Washington D.C.
